A water conditions statement for water safety has been issued by the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority and The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

The statement says water levels are already high due to the recent thaw and they’re expected to stay that way for the time being as more rain is on the way.

The forecast indicates we could receive 15-20 mm of rain on Wednesday and an additional 15 mm on Thursday and Friday.

And with the thunderstorms in the forecast the total amount of rainfall could go up.

The statement means high flows, melting ice or other factors could be dangerous but flooding is not expected.
