Tom Petty’s ‘Love is a Long Road’ Featured In Promotional Game Trailer

Tom Petty’s “Love Is A Long Road,” from 1989’s Full Moon Fever, is featured in the first video trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, a new game by Rockstar Games.

The clip reveals a Petty easter egg in the form of a “Petty Forever” sticker using the colour scheme from the Full Moon Fever album cover art.

The fan reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, pointing out the beauty of the song and the title connected to various themes: the street-level setting is Tom Petty’s native Florida, and the long road of love, just like the song mentions.

In 2004, the same company used Tom Petty song, “Runnin’ Down A Dream,” for one of their other games, they stated that “Tom loved it.”
