Noel Gallagher is back to Noel Gallagher stuff. The former Oasis songwriter sat down for an interview with The Sun recently to talk about, among other things, his thoughts on the Royal Family, because apparently he has too much family drama to contain to simply the royal family of britpop. He seems to see something of himself in Prince William, because he sympathizes with him for having a younger brother “shooting his f***ing mouth off”.

This seems to be in reference to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah where they discussed the Royal Family’s impact on Meghan’s health, her pregnancy, and concerns over their baby’s skin colour. Noel Gallagher is a seasoned veteran in the sport of semi-professional sibling rivalries so this all should all come as no surprise, but the perplexing part of the interview came when he turned his focus to his specific beef with Harry. “Just don’t be f***ing dissing your family because there’s no need for it,” said Gallagher.

If something about that statement seems odd to you, it might be because of everything you’ve ever heard about Noel Gallagher, a man who once described his brother, Liam Gallagher, as “rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy. He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”

It seems pretty unlikely that this is Noel’s roundabout way of trying to make up with Liam and give us the Oasis reunion fans have been hoping for since 2009, which is disappointing for fans of their music but quite promising for fans of the Gallagher brothers’ never-ending string of hall of fame-worthy insults.
