A local hockey player who garnered the support of his community and the hockey world has passed away.

A cousin of 13 year old Noah Dugas announced his passing on social media.

Megan Odd tweeted “It is with sincere sadness that I write Noah has passed. His strength and perseverance will never be forgotten. His memory will live on. #NoahStrong”

BayToday reports Dugas, who suffered from a stroke this summer, was getting treatment at a hospital in the Toronto area and was making progress while rehabilitating and taking online courses at ecole secondaire Algonquin.

Pictures of Noah in his Trappers uniform, along with photos of sticks and jerseys on the doorstep, lit up social media Friday night with word of his passing.
