A new Community Response Unit with the North Bay Police Service has become operational.

Police say the unit, which builds on the success of the regenerated bike patrol, has two officers right now and will become fully staffed with four officers on January 1st, 2021.

They’ll be working in both North Bay and Callander.

Duties will range from traffic enforcement to foot patrol in a problem area or assisting other officers with additional resources for an area having an identified crime issue.
