Legion Branch 23 officials say there will be no Remembrance Day ceremony at Memorial Gardens this year due to COVID-19.

Katherine Whitmore is membership chair of the Poppy campaign at the Northgate Shopping Centre.

She says a ceremony is being planned for the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day but there will be restrictions.

“That doesn’t mean people can’t stand outside the cordoned off part. Inside of it there’s a 25 person limit,” she says.

Poppies are available at the Northgate, The Beer Store, LCBO outlets and CFB North Bay.

There’s no cost but donations will be accepted.
