On Thursday, the OHL made official their return to play plan.

The highlights include the start of training camp on January 23rd with a 40 game regular season to begin 12 days later.

Battalion General Manager Adam Dennis was asked by BayToday about the shorter than usual training camp.

“We’ll take what we can. That will be the emphasis that we have in our calls leading up to the start. There’s not going to be as much of a runway when players get here for training camp and they’ll have to make sure they are doing things to be ready,” Dennis says.

Under the plan, eight teams would make the playoffs with the league champion to be decided by the middle of June.

This means the Battalion would have to finish top four in the Eastern Conference to qualify for the post season.

The return to play plan says games will be primarily against teams within their geographic region.
