Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the North Bay Regional Health Centre will be receiving $2.64 million in funding so 35 temporary transitional ALC beds for a five month period can be put in place.

This is part of a $116 million provincial announcement overall at 32 health care facilities in Ontario.

The money is targeted at preparing for a surge in COVID-19 cases and reducing surgical backlogs.

Premier Doug Ford says overall 766 new hospital beds are being added in Ontario.
