An update from the North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit on COVID-19 stats.

There are now four active cases of the virus as one of the previous active cases has been resolved.

That is of someone who acquired the virus through travel.

There have been 47 cases overall and 42 of them have been resolved now and there’s been one death.

Meantime, the health unit  is warning the public about a scam.

Someone received a call about taking part in a phone survey from the health unit.

The caller, pretending to be a Health Unit employee, asked questions about their COVID-19 status, pets and the number of people in the home.
The health unit says it is currently not conducting a survey specific to COVID-19.

And if you receive a suspicious call, do not share personal information and contact your local police to report it or contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
