Harrison Caines is now a former member of the North Bay Battalion.

He has been released by the team so he can play for Chicoutimi of the QMJHL which begins its season next month.

General Manager Adam Dennis told BayToday they have 14 forwards signed for next year and the earliest the season could start would be December and both sides felt this was the right course of action.

“We weren’t sure what was going to happen come December 1st in terms of where the team was going to be at. We felt like it was an opportunity to make a tough decision earlier than we would have liked. It opened up the door to get Harrison playing,” he says.

Meantime, Dennis says in other years all of the grade 11 and grade 12 players on the team would be here. But with the season not underway yet some players are in high school in their communities while others are doing on line work through Chippewa.
