For the first time since July 4th a new case of COVID-19 is being reported in the district by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.

The case is actually resolved.

It involved a man between the ages of 20 and 39 and was travel related.

This was the 38th case in the district, with 25 in Nipissing and 13 in Parry Sound District.

Meantime, an update from the Health Unit involving close contacts of symptomatic individuals.

Officials say when someone with symptoms is tested for COVID-19, or are isolating for 14 days, close contacts of that person do not have to self-isolate.

They do have to self-monitor for symptoms, which includes completing the daily screening tool.

If symptoms develop the person should self-isolate immediately and get tested.

Check out the Health Unit’s COVID-19 page on their website for more.
