Two small fires in North Bay

The North Bay Fire Department say there were small two fires they were called to today.

The first was around 12:30 on Galt Street. Deputy Chief Greg Saunders says they were able to put it out quickly and damage was minimal.

Careless smoking has been pegged as the cause.

The 2nd small fire was  an hour later on Manitou Street with some smoke damage reported in the kitchen of a townhouse.

There were no injuries in either fire.
