The Powassan Voodoos have signed a netminder.

Owen Wray, the son of Battalion assistant coach Scott Wray played last season with the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers and had a 2.74 goals against average.

Voodoos head coach Max Gavin says it’s a big signing.

“His strength’s are his athleticism and his dedication. He was one of the top if not the top goalie in the north and one of the best midget goalies in Ontario. We’re lucky to have him,” he says.

He was also named to the Great North All-Star team that competed in a high profile tournament in Quebec.

He says he never gives up.

“Whatever the situation is whether the score is 8-0, 1-0 or 2-0. I won’t give up no matter what,” Wray says.
