The city says there will be potential traffic disruptions in the coming weeks as reconstruction of the Hwy 11/17 and Seymour intersection ramps up.

There will be temporary lane closures daily from 9:30 am to 3 pm and from 7 pm to 7 am.

Motorists are advised to give yourself some extra time or take an alternate route.

Meantime, an update involving the MTO cameras on area highways. Officials say they are road condition monitoring cameras tied to Ontario 511 and are not designed to collect traffic data.

They also say there are currently no plans to install road condition monitoring cameras on Highway 11/17 within the City of North Bay.

List of alternate routes

vehicles travelling northbound on King’s Hwy No 17, detour onto Hwy 94 towards Callander and then north to Lakeshore Drive and then using the City’s road network, get to their destination; or
vehicles travelling northbound on King’s Hwy No 17, stay on the inside lane and travel south on King’s Hwy No 11 at the over pass to Lakeshore Drive and then using the City’s road network, get to their destination;
vehicles travelling northbound on King’s Hwy No. 11, should take the off ramp at Lakeshore Drive and then using the City’s road network, get to their destination
vehicles travelling southbound should take any of the arterial roads connected to Hwy 11/17 and using the City’s road network make their way to either King’s Hwy No. 11 or King’s Hwy No. 17
