The province’s Special Investigations Unit has determined there are no reasonable grounds to charge a city police officer after an incident last November.

The SIU says an officer in an unmarked cruiser saw a man operating a pickup truck while prohibited.

The officer parked behind the pickup in the Canadian Tire parking lot and went to the driver’s door.

After seeing the officer the man reversed the truck a couple of times, striking the cruiser and drove away.

After being arrested a couple days later he claimed his left hand was injured by the officer in the earlier encounter.

Once again the SIU says there are no reasonable grounds to charge the officer.
