Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation Programs are being offered by all elementary schools at the Nipissing Parry Sound Catholic District School Board.
The sessions are for children beginning kindergarten this September.
“Our Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation Programs are important because they offer children the opportunity to develop social-emotional connections and engage in early learning activities, both of which are extremely valuable for children in their transition to school,” says Paula Mann, Superintendent of Education.
This year, Welcome to Kindergarten Programs are taking place virtually, so students have the opportunity to engage with materials and build connections with their school communities from their own homes.
Families will be provided details about their school’s Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation Programs upon registration.
“We encourage parents to register their children as early as possible, so they can access these valuable resources and begin to make important connections with their Catholic school communities and peers early,” adds Audrey Gribbons, Principal at St. Alexander School.
Details about how to register can be found at npsc.ca or by calling (705) 472-1201.
NPSC schools offer Kindergarten in both Regular English and Early French Immersion programs.
