With the Nipissing Motorcycle Ride For Dad group event postponed officials are holding a ‘Ride Alone-Together’ fundraiser.

The self-directed ride program will see those taking part receive a suggested Ride route in the area, with recommended photo locations to share on social media, and activities along the way.

Registration is underway until July 15th.

All funds raised locally will stay local.

“Our annual parade of motorcycles helps raise awareness of the importance of early detection of prostate cancer and raise funds for local research and education. Social distancing is threatening our group ride event this year and we urge all riders to register for Ride Alone-Together to keep the momentum going. We hope to gather once again in 2020 for our annual group Ride”, said John Strang, Co-chair Nipissing Ride For Dad.

Over the past 13 years the Nipissing TELUS Ride For Dad has raised $672,000 dollars for the fight against prostate cancer.

Proceeds are invested here in Nipissing to fund lifesaving awareness initiatives and innovative research to improve the quality of life for men and their families living with the disease.

“Nipissing TELUS Ride For Dad events are about three things; saving lives, raising money and having fun. You don’t need a large group to have a Ride For Dad. You can RIDE ALONE-TOGETHER, united in the fight against prostate cancer,” concluded Mitch Belanger, Celebrity Ride Captain, Nipissing Ride For Dad.

Every day nearly 65 Canadian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and another 12 men die from the disease.
