A new fixed price hydro rate starts today locally and across Ontario.

The province announced on the weekend they’re extending it’s COVID-19 residential relief for another five months, but the fixed price is going up a bit.

Hydro rates will be 12.8 cents per kilowatt hour from now until October 31st.

While that’s up nearly three cents from the off-peak rate, it’s still below the mid-peak and on-peak rates that were charged over the winter.

They were 14.4 and 20.8 cents per kilowatt hour, respectively.
