Curb side service starts tomorrow at 10 am at the North Bay Public Library.

Officials say the library building will remain closed to the public, but, up to 10 items per card can be ordered and will be available for scheduled pick up.

“We are thrilled to be offering this modified return to service,” said library CEO Ravil Veli. “We have been eager to get this going.”

For more than a week library staff have been training and preparing to ensure all appropriate and recommended protocols are in place for the safety of library staff and patrons.

“We are following all health authority guidelines and recommendations set out by the government,” said Veli. “Our first priority is to provide a service that is safe for all.”

The library ceased operations several weeks ago as ordered by the provincial government in an effort to combat the spread of COVID 19.

“Despite being closed, we still have had people calling and coming to the library,” Veli added, “so we know people have missed our services.”

There are two ways to order curb side service online at library.cityofnorthbay.ca:
1. Place items on hold on your account through the library catalogue
2. fill out an online request form

Orders can also be made by phone, call the library at 705-474-4830

Patrons are limited to 10 items per library card – including books, magazines, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs and Blu Rays. DVDs are limited to 5 per card.

The loan period is for three weeks.
