The city says all municipal beaches will re-open Friday.

Keep in mind physical distancing rules are in place and that groups of more than five that are not part of the same household are still not permitted.

And if you do swim do so at your own risk as no lifeguard supervision will be available at municipal beaches this summer.

Outdoor play structures and equipment, fitness equipment and splash pads remain closed but using benches, picnic tables and shelters is okay.

Officials say when you arrive at a beach area and it is too busy or crowded you’re asked to wait until there is enough space to properly practice physical distance.

As well, the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority says beaches at the Elks Beach Conservation Area on Trout Lake and the Eva Wardlaw Conservation Area are both open as well.

Keep in mind, physical distancing rules apply and the restrictions of social gatherings of more than five people are still prohibited.

For the next three weekends starting Friday at 3 Memorial Drive will be closed from Regina Street to the marina as that part of the waterfront will be designated as an active transportation route.

The affected closure will be in effect until 8 am Monday morning after each weekend.

Access for vehicles will be allowed at the Marina entrance and the waterfront parking lots.
