The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority say they’ve received a report from a trail user of a bear sighting at the Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area and the Laurentian Ski Hill.

Officials have posted a sign and it will remain there for three days indicating that a bear may be in the area.

Officials say bear sightings are normal for this time of year as bears are foraging for food after awakening from winter hibernation.
