Harrison Caines’ third period goal was enough to lift the North Bay Battalion to a 1-0 win over Kingston Thursday night at Memorial Gardens.

The Battalion have won six of their last nine games and Head Coach Ryan Oulahen says they’re seeing different players succeed.

“From somebody that’s not always scoring, Harrison Caines’ is a big goal from us, and that’s been our theme lately of other guys jumping in and getting some production for us, which is massive,” he says.

Joe Vrbetic made 25 saves for North Bay to earn his second career shutout.

The Troops are now only four points back of 8th place for the final playoff spot in the East.

They visit Mississauga tonight.

Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 650.
