North Bay OPP have charged two people with several offenses after a short foot pursuit near Powassan.

Police say they were conducting a radar patrol on Highway 11 around 10 Tuesday night when they observed a vehicle speeding.

Police say the driver fled on foot and later a search of the vehicle police located a quantity of suspected cocaine, heroin and cannabis plus a loaded handgun.

Charged are a 28 year old male from North York and a 22 year old male from Toronto.

The charges included possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded or restricted firearm and resisting a peace officer.

North Bay OPP have charged a 37 year old Quebec man after receiving a traffic complaint about a suspicious vehicle in North Bay earlier this month.

Police say the vehicle was located on Highway 17 in Nipissing First Nation and a search netted cocaine, oxycodone, morphine and other drugs.

Police also uncovered a quantity of Canadian currency and numerous weapons including brass knuckles, knives, a baseball bat, and a hatchet.

The charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime.
