OPP say a 31 year old North Bay man is facing charges after a head-on crash yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) on the 11/17 Bypass at O’Brien Street.

Charges include operating a motor vehicle without insurance and while prohibited, along with failing to stop for an amber light.

Provincial Police say the two vehicle collision resulted in the same driver being taken to hospital with minor injuries.

 

Stats are in from the Civic Holiday long weekend from North Bay and West Nipissing OPP.

The OPP’s long weekend traffic initiative saw 80 charges in the North Bay Detachment area.

They include 62 speeding charges and one charge for failing to move over for emergency vehicles.

Other charges included moving violations, warn range suspensions and four charges under the Liquor Licence Act.

West Nipissing OPP say 77 charges were filed over the Civic Holiday weekend.

They include 52 speeding charges, three impaired and two seatbelt-related counts.

Other charges included moving violations, Liquor Licence and small vessel regulations.

Two of 11 collisions involved motorcycles and serious injuries while person died as a result of a swimming mishap.
