The Village at Canadore College continues to grow.

The facility is a living model of health, human care and wellness education and will integrate seniors’ and community care with teaching, skills training and applied research in one facility.

Students have been learning there since last September and Canadore President George Burton says work continues to complete the entire vision.

“Inside the program areas will be fully occupied come September, the last pieces of the two clinics are underway and we’re in discussions with some wellness service providers that we will be announcing over the next two months,” he says.

Burton also says there is more work to be done with the seniors living aspect.

“We’re really excited, phase two of The Village is under design and hopefully we’ll have something formally to announce in early Fall,” he says.

The Village, a living learning wellness community, focuses on collaborative interprofessional education and the integration of Indigenous, Eastern and Western healing and wellness practices.
