The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority has extended its flood warning until next Wednesday.

It says water levels continue to rise and is affecting the La Vase River and Parks Creek.

Mattawa River’s level is extremely high at Mattawa.

There’s also substantial precipitation in the forecast over the next few days with the exception on Friday.

This means 8-10 mm possible daily from now until Monday.

Lake Nipissing’s level is expected to continue to rise daily for the next 1-2 weeks.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the flood warning in the North Bay district is in effect until next Wednesday also.

Meantime, due to existing flood concerns in and around Lake Nipissing boaters are asked to be cautious when boating and be mindful of creating any wake.

Officials say there are areas on the lake where water levels are within a few centimeters of the top of dikes, sandbag barriers and building foundations,

You can be fined $200 if you operate a small vessel in a careless manner or without reasonable consideration for others.
