BayToday says no injuries were reported from a house fire on Franklin Street.

North Bay Fire Department Captain Joe Zimbalatti says they received a call about smoke in the residence.

“When we got here crews found a slight haze of smoke in the structure and we were able to dissipate it quite quickly,” he says.

Officials say there was some damage to the back of the home. The official cause has not been identified.

Christine Phillion, a friend of one of the residents alerted them and the dogs in the house and called 911.

“I found a dog laying down under the table and  barking. I couldn’t see anything and I smelled smoke so I called 911,” she says.
