The MTO says Hwy 17 East will remain closed today and tomorrow.

Flooding shut down the roadway in Bissett Creek early Monday.

Officials say the safety of drivers is the number one priority and they’ll open the highway as soon as it’s safe to do so.

A temporary culvert is in place and crews started to slowly release water this morning.

Repairs on the washed out area will start today.

Engineers are still analyzing results of yesterday’s Ground Penetrating Radar.

The only detour from North Bay is on Hwy 11 to Huntsville, then onto Hwy 60 to the Pembroke area.
