Strong winds and heavy flurries are expected today and that’s led to a special weather statement for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada says strong westerly winds gusting to 70 km/h are expected to continue through this afternoon.

The agency also says heavy flurries along with blowing snow can be expected, with visibility reduced suddenly at times.

Snowfall accumulations are expected to be limited to just a couple centimetres.
