Friday is International Women’s Day and a few events are marking the occasion.

From 10 am to 5 pm tomorrow (Friday) at the Capitol Centre, the Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound and NECO Community Futures are hosting a keynote speaker, a documentary screening showcasing stories of ambitious and inspiring female entrepreneurs, networking activities and more.

North Bay’s own Hidden Roots Collective is also performing tomorrow night at the Capitol Centre.

The AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area also has a couple of events at Nipissing University.

Today (Thursday) in Room H-112, from 1-4 pm, is an educational event on safe spaces for women in sex work.

Tomorrow in the Nipissing theatre is a multimedia performance on women with lived experience in sex work and their allies.

That event runs from 2-4 pm.
