The splash pad is a go.

North Bay City Council gave its approval to the plan last night with construction to start in the spring.

Councillor Dave Mendicino says it’s a $580,000 project with the rotary clubs raising a half million of that and the city the rest around $80,000  in phase 1 of the project.

“The infrastructure work, site prep, install the splash pad, washrooms, change rooms and preliminary landscape work. That’s expected to cost $580,000,” he says.

He says phase 2 which will have no municipal funding will have sun shelters, picnic tables and benches and will cost around $150,000 and will rely on grants only.
