North Bay will be getting a new top cop.

BayToday.ca reports Chief Shawn Devine is resigning to go to a private sector job.

After rising through the ranks, he became chief three years ago.

Devine tells BayToday he’ll be taking on the role of executive director of the Ontario Police Technology Information Co-Operative.

Dates and details on the resignation are expected at the next police board meeting on January 15th.
