Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli was in New York City last week.

The province’s finance minister say he was in the big apple to meet with several bank leaders about getting loans for the government and to talk to executives about expanding operations into Ontario and to promote Nipissing.

He says he’s hearing good things and the government’s message about being open for business is starting to pay off.

“Bringing jobs back, restoring proposperity to Ontario and making a better life for our families. That message was carried into New York,” he says.

Fedeli says he gave a speech to the Canadian Association of New York and he was told they haven’t heard a speech like that in years.

Fedeli says Ontario will see greater growth because businesses are seeing Ontario is ready for investment and the playing field has been levelled for the first time in a long time.

“We need to match what they’re doing in the states and we weren’t. They were eating our lunch. We’re back in a level playing field now. When international companies have to decide between Ontario and the states we’ve levelled the playing field,” he says.
