The Battalion have made a trade.

They’ve acquired centre Mason Primeau in a deal with Guelph.

In exchange, the Storm pick up 2 2nd round picks, one in 2020 and the other in 2022.

Primeau was the 2nd pick in the 2nd round in last year’s priority selection and he played on a line Battalion forward Brandon Coe.

Primeau is the son of long time NHL vet Wayne Primeau.

He’s expected to play tonight versus Barrie.

Meantime, the next home game for the North Bay Battalion is tomorrow versus Sudbury.

Former North Bay Centennial Chris Neil will be at the game and be recognized by the team.

Manager of Marketing and Business Development John McLellan encourages the fans to arrive early.

“At 5:30 there’ll be an autograph session in the lobby. Fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with a former North Bay Centennial and more importantly a former NHL player,” he says.

He says Neil was a leader on the ice and off the ice when he played for the Cents and he continued that during his career in Ottawa.

He is now a team alumni ambassador for the Senators doing outreach.

Over 3 seasons Neil scored 65 goals for the Cents and added 91 assists.

Neil will also speak to the team before the game.

Game time tomorrow is 7 pm.
