Plenty of people attended the Chamber’s Meet and Greet with the election candidates in North Bay on Tuesday night.

Officials estimate over 400 people were there.

Chamber president Peter Chirico was impressed with the interest from the public.

“It’s getting voters to meet with the candidates and talk to the candidates and see what they stand for. And with the crowds that we’re getting we’ve succeeded and I’m pleased about that,” he says.

Andy Hazelwood says he came out to talk to candidates who are not on the current council and get their ideas.

“I wanted to come and talk to the new candidates and not the ones running for re-election. I’m voting for 3 incumbents and haven’t made a decision on the other 7 votes,” he says.

Other people we talked to say more economic growth is needed from council, there are concerns about future athletic facilities in the city and which candidates support any change in policing services.
