The North Bay Bulldogs overpowering rushing game and outstanding defence were the difference Sunday as the team beat Ottawa’s Beckwith Irish 18-15 to win the Ontario Provincial Football League Championship. Running back Ryan McColeman was named MVP of the game with 20 carries for 127 yards. After losing to the Irish three times this season the Bulldogs coaching staff came up with a game plan that focused on a strong running game and punishing defence and it worked big time, giving the North Bay Bulldogs their first ever championship and the first championship for a North Bay men’s football team since the North Bay Ti-cats did it in 1969.
This morning we talked to Bulldogs coach Jason Ferreira and running back Ryan McColeman. Click here to listen to the interview.
