The highly anticipated and widely popular “Roseanne” reboot was cancelled yesterday. ABC was quick to act, condemning a series of racist tweets made by Barr with reference to former Obama adviser, Valerie Jarrett.

While some, including President Donald Trump came to Barr’s defense, not everyone shared the same sentiment, including long time Roseanne cast member, Sara Gilbert.

The actress is now apologizing for the remarks, but also claiming it was medication that lead to the racist tweets.

Roseanne also tweeted:

“I think Joe Rogan is right about ambien, not giving excuses for what I did(tweeted) but I’ve done weird stuff while on ambien-cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc.”

The tweet had roughly 3,000 likes and 495 retweets before she deleted it.

Today, a pharmaceutical company responsible for making the drug responded to Barr’s comments, stating that, “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”
