Nipissing MPP and Progressive Conservative Finance Critic Vic Fedeli says he will allow his name to stand to become the next leader of the Ontario PC’s.

“I’m hearing from our caucus. They’re saying it’s your time Vic you’re the person to do this. I will respect the decision of caucus and let my name stand. If that’s what caucus chooses then I’ll look forward to leading us forward.”

The leader could be be decided as early as Friday  morning at a caucus meeting.

This after Patrick Brown resigned as leader early Thursday morning.

Fedeli says Brown is entitled to a legal defense and due process in relation to the sexual misconduct allegations against him but he can’t lead the party into the June election.

Fedeli was asked if Brown should be kicked out of caucus.

” I watched the video. I think like everybody we were horrified, disappointed and shocked. I think Patrick Brown will have to handle himself accordingly.”
Fedeli says the party must take decisive action on this issue and prove to people they are ready to lead with a great platform that is ready to turn Ontario around.

He says the polls are strong and that’s because of their outstanding and strong platform and that platform is not going to change.

Fedeli says the real target is Kathleen Wynne and it’s important to be decisive at the meeting.
