There’s a flu outbreak on one of the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s units and officials have declared a “high-risk influenza status” at the health centre, too.

They say that’s a proactive measure to help protect patients from increased risk of infections.

Along with encouraging influenza vaccination, staff also follow heightened infection control measures, like hand-washing and effective use of personal protection equipment.

Officials say they are not closed to visitors, but ask everyone to follow any instructions posted throughout the facility.

They say visitors may want to considering getting the flu shot and postponing visits if they aren’t feeling well.
