For the second straight game the North Bay Battalion play their northern rivals from Sudbury.

The Troops host the Wolves tonight (Wednesday) at Memorial Gardens, just 3 days after the Battalion pulled out a 6-5 comeback win in Sudbury.

Coach Stan Butler says he’s not a believer in carrying momentum from 1 game to the next.

“Sudbury’s our rival. They are going to come in here and want to get 2 points from us and we’ve got to make sure it doesn’t happen,” he says.

Battalion newcomer Luke Burghardt was a major reason for the comeback on Sunday, scoring three goals including the game winner with less than four seconds on the clock.

Butler has liked what he’s seen.

“I think he’s a really good skater. He’s fast. I think hockey’s a game of confidence. He’s playing with confidence. When he’s had chances around the net he’s taken advantage of them and made the best of his opportunities,” Butler says.

Burghardt received consideration for both OHL and CHL player of the week.

Broadcast time tonight is 6:55 pm on Country 600 CKAT.
