Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play with a former NHL player?

On Friday, December 1st in North Bay you can do just that at the Celebrity Hockey Classic.

The fundraiser for Easter Seals features former Maple Leafs Wendel Clark and Gary Leeman.

Charlene Myke, development manager of Easter Seals, says there will be a draft the night before and each team will have an NHL player to pick.

She says imagine being on a line with Wendel Clark and the questions you can ask.

“What was it really like to skate with Doug Gilmour, What was it really like to get traded for Mats Sundin and then come back and play with him,” she says.

The registration fees are $1,500 per team with a minimum of $300 per player.

Myke says the money raised will help send kids with physical disabilities to summer camps in London and Perth.

“They get a chance to experience what it is like to be part of a group because normally they are the kids that are left out. They come to camp with us they are not left out,” she adds.

Jennifer Rivenbark is the mother of Dylan who has attended one of the camps, pointing out it does wonders for him.

“It’s amazing. They do sledge hockey, they go on a high ropes course, they can go on a huge swing and they meet kids who are just like them. They’re always the ones who are a little bit different but this camp gives them confidence and fun and it’s a great time,” she says.

The draft will be at the Davedi Club and the hockey at the Pete Palangio Arena.
