OPSEU members at Ontario’s 24 public colleges, including Canadore, have given their negotiators a strike mandate.

68 percent vote in favour as talks resume next week.

The current contract agreement for 12,000 professors, instructors, counsellors, and librarians expires on September 30th.

A strike or lockout deadline has not been set.

The union says key issues include the role of faculty in academic decision-making and fair treatment for contract faculty.
