Canadore College has formed a partnership with Me to We a global social enterprise.

It’s run by Craig and Marc Kielburger.

The idea is to bring people together from different cultures and empower them to become better citizens.

Canadore vice president Shawn Chorney says the program is going to be offered in the fall to about 30 students and staff as well.

He says this is something quite unique.

Chorney says he’s been involved in student services in the college system for a decade and he hasn’t come across students and staff both taking the same program.

He says there’s been some collaboration but nothing this formal.

He says the students will learn to engage the campus community in making a difference.

Chorney says the training will focus on leadership, planning,, execution, measuring success, engaging community partners and helping bring ideas to action.

He says it will also help the students secure jobs and spread the message of what they’ve learned.

Chorney says the Me to We organization raises funds for the Free The Children campaign.
