The city police traffic enforcement officer had a busy morning issuing tickets on Algonquin Avenue in a Community Safety Zone.

In 45 minutes, 17 drivers were ticketed for going over 40 km/hour with the highest reaching 73 km.

Police say the fines range depending on how many km you are over the speed limit from $75 if you’re 15 km over to $396 if you’re 33 km over.

If convicted, demerit points can be added on from 3 to 6 based on speed

Meantime, Police say a local bus driver witnessed 3 drivers not stopping for a school bus that had its signals flashing and stop arm extended.

This was yesterday around 3:30 at Duke and Cassells.
