There were several presentations at last night’s council about future spending.

They covered a wide range of issues including the King’s Landing Pier Development and what the price tag will be and the downtown development too.

One resident Murray Cooper says he started a petition and it has over 300 signatures.

He opposes spending on the downtown and the waterfront but specifically the pier development.

He says the city should be repairing the dock but also look for other governments to help with the funding.

He says if they get funding he would like to see the money spent on repairing the dock only and that would free up more funds for something the city actually needs like improved infrastructure.

Now that were a couple of presentations in support of the downtown waterfront master plan.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says the downtown waterfront master plan and the dock are just two major projects the city has to make a decision on.

He says other big projects are the development at Casselholme and the future of the West Ferris Arena.
