The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a watershed conditions-flood outlook statement for the North Bay District.

The temperature is scheduled to rise substantially and rainfall is forecast for several areas including Powassan, Port Loring, West Nipissing and Marten River.

The change in temperatures will result in snowmelt and runoff and high flows of water and localized flooding in low lying areas.

The outlook says the return to normal temperatures in the middle of next week will slow the melt and runoff.

Meantime, an update of the snow survey.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says the depth has decreased by 20 % in the last two weeks and the water content in the snow is down by over 40 %.
