The Great North Midget League final will open either in North Bay or Temiscaming.

The AAA Trappers are the home team for game one on Saturday against the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves.

The game will be played at Memorial Gardens, if the Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team dispatches Toronto in game two of their series tomorrow and doesn’t need the arena that night.

If a deciding game in the OUA semifinal series is needed the Trappers game will be played in Temiscaming.

Game two of the Trappers series will be Sunday evening at 6:30 pm at Memorial Gardens.

The Powassan Voodoos play three games in three days this weekend.

They’re in Cochrane tomorrow (Fri), Iroquois Falls on Saturday night and Timmins on Sunday afternoon.

Powassan wraps up the regular season next Wednesday in Noelville against French River.

The Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team is into the playoffs for the first time.

They play a quarterfinal matchup in Guelph on Saturday.

The Lakers finished the regular season with an 11-7 record, only two points back of the Gryphons for second place in the East Division.

Guelph swept Nipissing in the only game the two teams played against each other during the regular season.

Justin Shaver and Marcus Lewis have been named OUA second team All-Stars.

Meantime, for a third straight season the Lakers have a player selected to the rookie team.
