Sunny but cold is the forecast for Saturday with a high of Minus 15 as the Polar Plunge returns to North Bay at the Waterfront Marina.

The event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Ontario.

Cst. Merv Shantz of North Bay Police is the Special Olympics Liaison Officer.

He says their fundraising goal this year is $20,000 and half of that has already been raised on line.

Shantz says last year they raised $22,000.

He says the money raised support Special Olympics clubs and their athletes.

He says the clubs help athletes train and prepare for various athletic competitions.

Shantz says they have 60 registered plungers including our own Adam Contant.
