Starting Wednesday, Forty Words For Sorrow comes to life .

That’s the title of a book written by North Bay’s Giles Blunt.

The book details the travails of Detective John Cardinal and a six part series “Cardinal” premieres on CTV Wednesday at 10 pm.

The town where all the action is, is named Algonquin Bay and it’s very similar to North Bay.

Mayor Al McDonald says it’s great that a hometown boy wanted to put so much of North Bay into his books.

He says Blunt is putting North Bay on the map and that’s worth celebrating.

The series was shot in several communities including North Bay and Sudbury.

McDonald says the fact that Blunt’s story is being told on national TV works perfectly with North Bay’s goal as a centre for film and TV.
