The North Bay Regional Health Centre is under a high risk influenza status.

That was imposed on Friday as flu activity has reached a peak with an increased numbers of patients dealing with respiratory problems.

The hospital is encouraging everyone to get their flu shot which helps prevent the spreading of the virus to the most vulnerable including very young children and seniors.

Hospital officials say they are under an increased awareness situation and infection control measures are in place.

They recommend if you’re not feeling well don’t go to the hospital.
